Jonathan Shelley is a Marion L. Brittain Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on theories and depictions of friendship in early modern prose, poetry, and drama. His work has appeared in Renaissance Papers and is forthcoming in SEL. Other research interests include early modern technical writing and dance, specifically their influence on conceptions and understandings of race in the period.

Jonathan received his PhD in English from UC Berkeley and his BA in English from Washington University in St. Louis.
